Recipe for Sake-steamed Mushrooms

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my blog. In this post, I am going to introduce a recipe for sake-steamed mushrooms. My aunt makes them. I added some sausages to mine, but I made everything else according to her recipe.

  • Sake is a Japanese liquor.
  • Low-sugar side dish
  • It takes 15–20 minutes.

Ingredients (3~4 portions):
  • Vegetable oil (3 teaspoons)
  • Garlic (4 pieces)
  • Bacon (70g)
  • Shimeji mushrooms and King oyster mushrooms (500g)
  • Salt (2/3 teaspoon)
  • Sake/Japanese liquor (200cc)
  • Ajinomoto/Seasoning
  • Black pepper (a pinch)
  • Butter (16g)
  • Green onion (as much as you like)

Directions:

  1. On medium heat, stir-fry together the vegetable oil, garlic, and bacon until the edges of the bacon are crispy.
  2. Add and stir-fry all the mushrooms with the salt, seasoning, black pepper, and butter.
  3. Add sake and change medium heat to high heat.
  4. If the mushrooms glisten, sprinkle green onions.
  5. Done!!

In this recipe, I used bacon, but it is optional. The mushrooms are great with the butter, giving them a mild taste. You should try making them for a snack or maybe a light dinner.
