THE 88 TSUKUBA PANCAKE
Hello, everyone! Welcome to my blog.
One day during summer vacation, I spent time with my younger sister. We have both been busy, so it has been many months since we had free time together. We traveled by train and went shopping.
For lunch, we entered a cafe called THE 88 TSUKUBA PANCAKE. They had burgers, steaks, and, of course, pancakes! The place was Hawaii-themed, and there was calming Hawaiian music. The dishes were big, so we ordered omelet rice with hamburger steak and ricotta pancakes.
The omelet rice had ketchup rice with little peas and a rich sauce that tasted great with the steak and eggs.
The pancakes were fluffy and sweet. When I took a bite, it was like it melted on my tongue along with the cream and original maple syrup.
We both had fun. I enjoyed the cafe, so I recommended it to some friends of mine. It was a little far, but I think of going there again whenever I have time.
Thank you for introducing this restaurant to us. My impression is that Hawaii-themed cafes and restaurants are less popular now than they were about 5 years ago. I still remember seeing long queues outside some of them in Omotesando. Pancakes were always the favored item on the menu. These restaurants seemed to cater to the tastes of young Japanese women rather than try to provide some sort of authentic Hawaiian dining experience, which probably would be more likely to feature Hawaiian Poké bowls, spam sushi, and (perhaps) poi.
