Analyzing Food Blogs

On October 13th, we analyzed various food blogs in class. Since I rarely read blogs, I found that blogs are appealing in different ways. I analyzed two award-winning blogs: Honest Fare and My New Roots.

Honest Fare is a cooking blog created in February 2009. It mainly features all-natural and organic dishes along with step-by-step recipes. It sometimes introduces vegetarian and vegan dishes. A lot of them are easy to prepare and have fresh ingredients. "Honest Fare is all about the simple art of food preparation," as Gabrielle, the blogger behind Honest Fare, describes it.

My New Roots is a cooking blog created in October 2007. It has over 100 vegetarian and vegan recipes made with seasonal ingredients and colorful photographs of those dishes. "This blog has been the place for me to share the edible inspirations from my playtime in the kitchen and my deep love for whole foods," as Sarah, the blogger behind My New Roots, describes it.

Both blogs have a white background, and the pictures of food are colorful and look delicious. Since my blog is lacking color, I want to emulate the way they take pictures.

  1. I'm glad that you found inspiration in the blogs and your blog was positively influenced by them. It really is reflected in your blog.
